To keep your brand visible and engaging year-round, consistent, valuable, and captivating content is key. We’ve already discussed the first two quarters of the year, and now we’re exploring themes for July, August, and September 2024.
JULY
July tends to be a quiet month as many people are on holiday. Planning ahead is essential to capture attention during this period. Here are a few last-minute ideas:
- July 3 – International Plastic Bag Free Day: Highlight sustainability and your brand’s values with a meaningful message on this increasingly relevant topic.
- For Lithuanians, July 6 holds special significance as the Day of Statehood (the Coronation of King Mindaugas and National Anthem Day). Declared a public holiday in 1990, this day was also celebrated in independent Lithuania before the Soviet occupation. Each year, on this day, Lithuanians around the world unite to sing the national anthem, Tautiška giesmė.
How can this be beneficial for your business? If you sell Lithuanian products, use Lithuanian materials, or can otherwise connect your business to this special day, don’t miss the opportunity to share this with your audience. It’s a great chance for businesses of all kinds to communicate their values and express their love for their homeland.
For food industry businesses, there are several key dates: World Chocolate Day (July 7), Piña Colada Day (July 10), Fast Food Day (July 21), Hot Dog Day (July 23), and World Tofu Day (July 26).
AUGUST
The last month of summer is the perfect time to prepare for an increasing volume and pace of communication. Summer sales, which began in July, gain momentum in August—so make sure to plan your campaigns for this period in advance. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the back-to-school season, the launch of new autumn collections, and final clearance sales are approaching fast. Here are a few more interesting dates in August that could be useful for planning your communication this month:
- August 9 – International Cat Day and August 26 – International Dog Day: Great opportunities for pet-friendly businesses or companies organizing an “office pet day.”
- August 10 – International Underwear Day, perfect for apparel businesses.
- This month also features Book Lovers Day (August 9), World Photography Day (August 19), and Internet Diaries and Blogs Day (August 31). If you’re looking to attract audiences with these specific interests, these dates could be highly beneficial—approach them creatively!
- Do you manufacture or sell products designed for left-handed individuals? Do you have left-handers on your team? August 13 marks International Left-Handers Day, a celebration of this unique trait shared by left-handers worldwide. This is a perfect opportunity to introduce your audience to your left-handed colleagues and invite them to engage in your communication—how many of your followers are better with their left hand than their right?
- Don’t forget key cultural dates like Žolinė (Assumption Day) on August 15 and the Baltic Way on August 23.
SEPTEMBER
September marks the beginning of the new autumn season. This month, the final summer sales gradually give way to new collections, and the new school year begins. What other themes could be helpful when planning your September communication?
- September 7 is World Beard Day—a great opportunity for businesses offering men’s cosmetics, grooming products, supplements, vitamins, and men’s beauty salons to remind their audience about their products and services.
- If you work in the beauty industry, be sure to mark International Beauty Day (September 9) on your calendar. Interestingly, this date is also worth noting for businesses in the construction sector, as September 9 is also Builders’ Day.
- European Mobility Week begins on September 16 and concludes with World Car-Free Day on September 22. This is another opportunity for your business to showcase its values to customers—perhaps by organizing a company-wide car-free week challenge, discussing sustainability, and raising awareness about environmental protection.
- Three dates in September will be particularly valuable for businesses in the health sector: Positive Thinking Day on September 13, World Pharmacists Day on September 25, and World Heart Day on September 29.
- World Tourism Day on September 27 can also be a valuable date for planning your communication. Consider what your business can offer to travelers with various needs. Are you a travel agency? Do you rent transportation for trips? Or perhaps you sell accessories essential for travelers?
We hope these ideas inspire your communication planning for July, August, and September. If you need help creating and planning, we’re here to support you.
